Research Interests

Obesity is associated with health risks such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, but the mechanisms contributing to obesity-related disease are poorly understood. Inflammation and activated immune cells within adipose tissue have been identified as links between obesity and disease. My projects focus on understanding the regulation of adipose tissue macrophage subtypes in obesity and the role of these macrophage subtypes and other immune cells in metabolic dysfunction.
